4 Easy Exercises You Can Do at Home to Help You Lose Weight Fast
By Craig Clemmings
We all know that if you want to lose weight fast, you will have to exercise. There are many ways you can exercise but not all of the options are viable for everyone. Going to the gym may be out of someone's budget or if there is not a gym close by, it can be a hassle to get to one. Not everyone can afford to buy exercise equipment like a weight set or treadmill but this equipment is not completely necessary to lose weight fast.
Whether you just want to workout in the comfort of your own home or fitness equipment is out of your budget, there are options for you. This article will touch on some of the exercises you can do from home. There are two different ways you can exercise your body to lose weight fast and they consist of strength training and aerobic exercise. We will cover a few basic strength raining exercises as well as aerobic workouts that are effective for weight loss.
Each is important because aerobic exercise helps you lose weight while you are doing the activity and strength training helps you lose wight during the training, but also after you are done. This is because strength training speeds up your metabolism and uses your body fat as an energy source to grow, which in turn helps you shed the weight off.
Now let's take a closer look at these workouts that you can do from home:
The first exercise in the aerobic category is simply brisk walking or jogging. This is a very easy exercise to do, just about anywhere and if you do have a treadmill, that is fine. If you don't getting outdoors and walking your neighborhood is a great way to exercise. If you are just starting out or you hate jogging then brisk walking is perfectly fine. It is important that you are walking at a fast pace and not just strolling along. This will help get your heart rate up and burn calories.
Another great aerobic exercise that is generally high intensity is jump roping. You can do this in your home, backyard or garage. Jump ropes are fairly inexpensive and since they are high intensity, you don't have to do it as long. You can jump rope for 15-20 minutes and get the same workout as it might take to walk for an hour. It may take a couple weeks to build up your stamina and timing, but jumping rope is a great way to workout.
For the strength training exercises, you will be using your own body weight to build your muscles. The first exercise is for your upper body and has numerous benefits. It is simply doing pushups. It may seem like a very basic exercise but it flat out works and if you stay consistent with doing pushups you will seem the results fast. Your upper body will be toned and fit. Pushups help strengthen your chest, shoulders, back, abdomen and arms. It is recommended you start with 3 sets of 10 pushups and then work your way up to more sets and more reps. You can also vary your workouts by doing incline and decline pushups.
For you lower body, the strength training exercise recommended is squats. Like pushups workout your whole upper body, squats cover nearly all your lower body muscle groups. You own body weight is enough at first, but you can add weight by holding a 5-10 pound weight as you do squats when you get better at them. It is recommended you do 15-20 squats and then take a little rest of a minute or two and then do 2 more sets. This is a total of three sets and you can increase the sets as you feel necessary.
These 4 exercises are all workouts you can do around your home. You must stay consistent in doing them in order to see results, but if you do, then you will lose weight fast and develop and toned body.

what exercises can i do at home to lose weight and tone up?
I don’t have a gym membership, but want to lose weight. What exercises can i do at home??
That means your gym teacher needs to get fired and hire you =D
Get a leather jump rope. Play your favorite fast paced music while you jump to make it fun.
Well, those to things are absolutely perfect for weight loss. Those, combined with a 20 minute routine of pilates, crunches, lunges, squats, sit ups, leg lifts and other strength exercises two times a week, is more than enough to lose some weight and gain a lean, healthy physique.
I’d start with 10 – 20 minutes on both machines at a pace that leaves you breathless and your heart pumping fast. After two weeks, either use them for longer, or work harder/faster on them. After another two weeks, change it again. Your body will get used to the routine if you do not.
As for the other moves, there are quite a few variations for crunches (which work ab muscles) and pilates (which tone every muscle, depending on the move). Find some you like and make a routine you enjoy and mix it up every two weeks.
This, combined with a healthy and well-balanced diet will assure weight loss.
What type of exercises will help me lose weight without a gym membership.?
i am 15 and weight 205 i want to weight 170 or 160. please help we come up with some exercises to do at home. i am already running daily.
Weight loss is an overall process and there are no magic answers. Pay no attention to weight loss supplements and pills and all the latest fads. You need to think about many factors but most of them are related to issues we’ve known about for a very long time. There are many sensible things you can do that will make a tremendous difference over the long term if you need to lose weight. It can be done in a healthy way. This is what has worked for me.
Keeping a food journal really does help. It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.
Make a few additional small changes – walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or your life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days. Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer. Buy one piece of exercise equipment to have at home and be strict with yourself about using it. Sometimes you can find mini-steppers or exercise bikes at second hand stores and thrift stores for just a few dollars.
Start a weight lifting routine. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall. Even if you can’t get to the gym you can work out at home using things around the house – cans of food, grocery bags with stuff in them, books, bricks, etc. Invest in a good weight training book. The Dummies series actually has a good one.
In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish. Particularly if you choose a vegetarian lifestyle include natural peanut butter, hummus, dried fruit and nuts. Pay close attention to getting the nutrients your body needs to be healthy.
Make your portion sizes smaller. Use a smaller plate – in our society we have become accustomed to thinking that we need a large plate of food at every meal, and we don’t. About quarter of your plate of food should be protein and at least half of it should be veggies.
Learn to count calories. At your current weight and activity level, you may possibly need about 2000 calories or more to maintain your current weight. So you will lose weight at a reasonable and healthy rate if you cut back to about 1600 or 1700 calories a day.
Eat small amounts frequently, rather than three large meals. Never skip breakfast. Include some protein in your breakfast. It will help get you through the day.
Drink plenty of water, at least 8 big glasses of water a day, and more if it is very hot, if you sweat a lot, or if you are exercising intensely, and eliminate fruit juices. Fruit juices have too many calories, so get your vitamins from fresh fruit, not the juice. You will begin to see changes in your body.
Vary your routines. Don’t eat the same number of calories every day (vary your calories from 1400 a day to 1900 or 2000 some days), eat a variety of foods, and do different kinds and amounts of exercise. You will lose weight much more efficiently if you mix things up from time to time so that your body doesn’t adjust to any one routine.
An area that many people overlook is getting enough sleep. You are much more likely to overeat or to binge eat if you are tired and not well rested, so get enough sleep.

How can I lose weight by doing home exercises?

Now I want to be able to get my lungs back and also shed a few pounds. The problem is that I do not have access to a gym and my home is very confined to where I cant buy a weight set. What kinds of home exercises I can do to lose say 5-10 pounds?

I need exercises to lose weight from home?
I have gained like 10 pounds and I want to lose them. I can’t go to the gym because I got a lot of homework. what kind of exercises do you recommend I do? I don’t have any machinery but in about a week ill get some dumbells
Pushups, situps and pullups will do for upper body workout. Start with 3 sets of ten each twice a day. Add five to each set every week until you can do 50 of each. For lower body , lunges and squats will do but are more efficient with some sort of weight. You can even use milk jugs filled with water to start. Look into select-tech dumbbells. They’re expensive but really save on space. Good luck
I lost a lot of weight a few years back with Denise Austin’s ” 30 Minute Fat Burning Workout”.
I looked “great” when I went on my trip to NY to visit future (now in-laws)
Good luck.
Why do I never lose weight from gym class, yet I lose weight if I exercise at home?
There are days in gym class where I’m practically dying having an asthma attack, or I’m like, “oh, I really feel the burn!” and I can’t wait to see if I get results. But I never lose weight from gym class!
If I put in some effort (and I mean less than half an hour) before I go to bed, that’s when I get results much faster.
BTW luckily my body responds fast to workout, so I see results quickly, but the downside is that I can get it back pretty fast too…
So what’s up with that? I hardly work up a sweat at home, but when I do at-home workouts, they work much better for me (not perfect, but you know).
It just doesn’t make sense because in gym class I’m like dying, sweating and stuff… and nothing happens!
